Featuring the Blackberry's trademark design, is their latest in their lineup, the Blackberry Bold 9700. Looking sleek in fingerprint-attracting black gloss and a classy aluminum accents, the unit weighs in a mere 4.3 ounces and measures 4.29 x 2.36 x 0.56 inches.
Under the hood is a powerful 624MHz processor which powers the Blackberry OS v5, which in turn provides for all the features that Blackberry phones are famous for. Functional and classy, the back of the phone sports a faux-leather cover that adds a touch of class and gives you a slightly better grip.
Replacing the trackball is an optical trackpad, offering more precise and smoother tracking. Its also very sensitive so a simple flick can scroll you all the way down to the bottom of your menu in a pinch. The QWERTY keyboard lives up to its expectations, being easy to type on and while small, the keys aren't too tiny, even for people with larger hands.
As far as we are concerned, the display is a brilliantly bright 480 x 360 resolution screen, now allowing for better streaming of video, picture viewing and video playback. The Blackberry Bold 9700's camera isn't too bad either, being able to adjust the zoom using the optical trackpad. Image quality is decent at 3.2 megapixels with image stabilization, with a fast processing time between snaps. We wouldn't use it for professional photography however for a phone camera it is decent.
Overall, for those looking for functionality and email capabilities, along with the other usual multimedia functions, the Backberry Bold 9700 would certainly be a very wise choice.
